ROUTINE AND ADVANCED DENTISTRY

We provide complete dental care for horses of all ages. All of our veterinarians are trained to utilize power dentistry equipment to ensure safe and effective management of equine dental issues. For advanced dentistry, such as surgical extractions and periodontal procedures, we work closely alongside veterinarians specializing in equine dentistry to provide the care your horse needs.

REPRODUCTIVE SERVICES

Services include breeding soundness examinations, uterine culture, uterine biopsy, rectal palpation and ultrasound, artificial insemination with fresh and chilled semen, embryo flush, and pregnancy diagnosis.

PREVENTATIVE CARE

We are committed to preventing disease and common equine health problems by creating individualized nutritional consultation, vaccination, and deworming protocols tailored to your horse. Our veterinarians provide these recommendations based on a thorough physical examination at the time of your wellness visit.

DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHS

We offer digital radiography to obtain high quality x-rays of your horse that are immediately visible on the farm. This technology allows us to obtain a faster diagnosis to aid in developing an appropriate treatment plan for your horse.

DIGITAL ULTRASOUND

Our digital ultrasound equipment allows us to perform reproductive exams, evaluate the lungs and heart, evaluate abdominal organs such as the liver, kidney, and spleen, and image the musculoskeletal system for tendon or ligament injuries.

LAMENESS EXAMINATION

Our veterinarians are trained to perform thorough lameness examinations to diagnose soundness issues in the horse. Lameness evaluations include a physical exam, palpation of the limbs and joints, evaluation of range of motion, watching the horse move in a straight line and circle, and response to flexion of the joints. Additional diagnostics, such as nerve blocks, joint block, radiographs, and ultrasound may also be performed.

SHOCKWAVE THERAPY

Extracorpeal shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses high pressure waves that promote healing of bone or soft tissue, reduce inflammation, and provide pain relief. Common uses include injured tendons and ligaments, osteoarthritis, and muscle soreness. The number of treatments and the interval the treatments are performed are determined by the degree and nature of the injury.

REGENERATIVE MEDICINE
IRAP

IRAP is a product from the horse’s own blood, processed to contain potent anti-inflammatory agents. IRAP is traditionally used to reduce joint inflammation and secondary joint arthritis, but also shows great promise for the treatment of tendon and ligament injuries due to anti-inflammatory effects.

REGENERATIVE MEDICINE
PRP

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is a product from the horse’s own blood, processed to contain high levels of platelets and utilized as a scaffold to which soft tissue injuries can heal. In addition to soft tissue injury, PRP shows promise in treating joint injuries as well.

REGENERATIVE MEDICINE
STEM CELL

Stem cells are derived from the horse’s fat or bone marrow. They are then isolated and cultivated to treat injuries to the joints, tendons, ligaments, and bones.

PRE-PURCHASE EXAMINATIONS

The pre-purchase examination includes a thorough physical examination and soundness evaluation that allows the buyer to gain insight to underlying health concerns or lameness that can affect the longevity or athletic capabilities of a potential purchase.

GASTROSCOPY

Our three-meter scope allows us to visualize the upper gastrointestinal tract including the esophagus, stomach, and, in some cases, the duodenum (early small intestine). This allows us to visualize stomach ulcers and monitor their treatment.

UPPER AIRWAY ENDOSCOPY

Our one-meter endoscope allows us to examine the upper airway and guttural pouches. The most common uses include diagnosis of nasal masses, laryngeal hemiplegia, guttural pouch disease, and upper airway inflammation.

MESOTHERAPY

Mesotherapy is a unique treatment used primarily in horses with back and neck soreness. The technique involves the injection of substances into the mesoderm, the middle layer of the skin, to stimulate the nerve fibers. This can relieve a wide variety of ailments by stopping the pain spasm cycle.

ALPHA2EQ

Alpha2EQ is a product from a horse’s own blood that is processed to produce Alpha2 Macroglobulin. This molecule is the horse’s natural defense against joint pain and inflammation and cartilage breakdown. Alpha2EQ can be used in all joints to reduce inflammation and slow the progression of osteoarthritis. It does not have a competition withdrawal time. Results can be seen in as little as 7 days.

LASER THERAPY

Laser therapy uses wavelengths of light energy to decrease healing time, control pain, stimulate tissue regeneration, and increase circulation. Some of its most common uses are incision sites, back soreness, and tendon and ligament injuries.

PRO-STRIDE

Pro-Stride is a product from the patient’s own blood. It can be processed stall-side in as little as 20 minutes. It provides growth factors and anti-inflammatory cytokines to reduce pain and inflammation. It requires a smaller volume than IRAP and PRP.

NOLTREX

Noltrex is a synthetic polyacrylamide gel used to lubricate joints affected by arthritis. It works as a cushion to provide support for the joint as well as slow the progression of osteoarthritis.
